Mark Osiecki is a highly esteemed professional scout and college scout for the Pittsburgh Penguins, renowned for his exceptional expertise in player evaluation and development. With a distinguished career spanning several top organizations, Osiecki has left an indelible mark on the world of hockey.
Osiecki’s career began as a standout defenseman before transitioning into coaching and scouting. He has served in influential roles with the Green Bay Gamblers of the USHL, the University of North Dakota, the University of Wisconsin, and The Ohio State University. His NHL experience includes contributions to the Chicago Blackhawks and the Rockford IceHogs, as well as involvement with USA Hockey.
A true champion in every sense, Osiecki’s accolades include winning the USHL Clarke Cup, three NCAA titles as a player and coach, and a Stanley Cup. He has also earned two World Junior gold medals and one bronze, showcasing his international impact on the game. His recruiting prowess is exemplified by his work with Hobey Baker winners Blake Geoffrion and Cole Caufield, as well as his role in developing 12 first-round NHL draft picks, 66 NHL draft picks overall, and 27 defensemen who have advanced to play in the NHL.
Osiecki’s professional playing career included stints with the Calgary Flames, Ottawa Senators, Winnipeg Jets, and the Minnesota North Stars, providing him with a deep understanding of the game from both sides of the bench.
